HC Deb 04 December 1986 vol 106 c798W
Mr. Corrie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what public expenditure provision he intends to make for capital expenditure on housing in 1987–88.

Mr. Rifkind

Public expenditure provision for capital expenditure on housing in Scotland in 1987–88 will be £548 million. This compares with provision of £458 million in the present year and represents an increase of 20 per cent. Public expenditure figures are net of capital receipts. When forecasts of those receipts are taken into account, gross expenditure is expected to be at least £720 million.
