I am firmly opposed to such a policy.

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what policies he intends to use to tackle the surplus of cereals.

Mr. Gummer

I shall continue to press in the Council of Ministers for a package of measures based on restricting the level of support to producers, complemented by the diversion of land away from cereals production.
