§ Mrs. Beckettasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what organisations were consulted about membership of the new advisory steering group for the replacement of resettlement units as a result of his letter of 13 June; from the organisations which supported option two, how many suggested that at least 50 per cent. should be representatives from review teams and how many recommended that at least 50 per cent. should be from central organisations; how many of those responding suggested representatives from central organisations additional to those suggested in the consultation letter; and how many organisations recommended limiting the representation on the advisory steering group to one delegate for the six review teams covering the South of England.
§ Mr. LyellWe consulted all major interests, including local authorities and the review teams. My main concern is to ensure that the advisory group makes best possible use of the expertise available. The bodies whom we consulted share this concern: one review team suggested 705W that 50 per cent. of the group should come from review teams, and six bodies suggested additional members from central organisations. None of the other views mentioned by the hon. Lady figured in the responses.
