HC Deb 03 December 1986 vol 106 c682W
Mr. Adley

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what recent representations he has received concerning the workings of the Mobile Homes Act 1983; what proposed changes to the law his Department is considering; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Tracey

We have received various representations about the working of the Act. We are satisfied that the Act is in general working well and we have no plans to amend it. However, problems have arisen for some residents over its operation. Officials are discussing with representatives of residents and site owners ways in which the Act can be made to work better, and I believe that some positive proposals are emerging from these discussions. In addition, the local authority associations are being consulted about the effectiveness of local authority powers in respect of mobile homes sites.
