Mr. Wallace

asked the Secretary of State for Transport (1) on how many occasions in each year from 1981 to 1985, and in respect of the current year to 15 November, civil helicopter pilots on flights over the North sea contacted air traffic control at (i) Aberdeen, (ii) Sumburgh, (iii) Baltasound and (iv) Shetland radar at Royal Air Force Saxa Vord to report suspected, indicated or actual technical malfunctions of their aircraft;

(2) on how many occasions emergency services were alerted at (i) Aberdeen, (ii) Sumburgh and (iii) Baltasound airports in connection with civil helicopter landings in each year between 1981 and 1985 and in the current year to 15 November.
