§ Mr. Nicholas EdwardsThe common fisheries policy has since its introduction in 1983 brought about a period of greater security and stability for Welsh fishermen. Measures for conserving fish stocks and strengthening control arrangements throughout the European Community which have recently been improved under the United Kingdom presidency will further help the industry in Wales to face the future with more optimism. I welcome the recent announcement of an enlargement of the Milford fishing fleet.
