Mr. Foulkes

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many British subjects are currently living in Suriname; what is the level of British investment there; what was the volume of trade between Britain and Suriname in each of the last three years; what overseas aid his Department has granted Suriname in the last three years; and if he will make a statement.

Consular records indicate that the British Community in Suriname consists of 21 British citizens and 284 British Dependent Territories citizens.

There are no figures available with regard to the level of British investment there.
