asked the Secretary of State for Social Servies how many representations the Government have received complaining of the complexity of the three rate system of statutory sick pay; and from what individuals or organisations they were received.

Mr. Lyell

[pursuant to his reply, 24 November 1986 c. 145]: There have been no complaints specifically about the structure of three rates for statutory sick pay, but some employers' representatives have instanced the three rates when pressing generally for simplification of the scheme.
