asked the Secretary of State for Transport when he expects to receive the report of the transport users' consultative committees on the application by British Rail for the closure of the Settle to Carlisle line.

I understand that the transport users' consultative committees for north-eastern and north-western England expect to be able to submit a joint report before the end of this year.
