HC Deb 01 December 1986 vol 106 c465W
Mr. Ron Brown

asked the Minister for the Arts what recent representations he has received from the Scottish Arts Council about the level of central Government funding for the arts in Scotland; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Luce

None. Central Government basic provision for the Arts Council in 1987–88 will be £113.8 million; it will be for the council to determine the Scottish share of this. In addition, the Government have continued the special provision of £0.6 million for the support of Scottish national companies which was made in 1986–87 following Scotland's local government re-organisation.
