HC Deb 01 December 1986 vol 106 c419W
Mr. Kirkwood

asked the Solicitor-General for Scotland with regard to the death of Mr. William McCrae in April 1985, at what stage and on what grounds the procurator fiscal at Inverness decided that there were no suspicious circumstances involved in Mr. McCrae's death.

The Solicitor-General for Scotland

The procurator fiscal reached a preliminary view that there were no suspicious circumstances after initial investigations had been completed and after receiving the results of the post mortem examination. The grounds on which he reached that view are confidential. His preliminary view, however, was confirmed on completion of full investigations.

Mr. Kirkwood

asked the Solicitor-General for Scotland, with regard to the death of Mr. William McCrae in April 1985, at which hospital the post-mortem took place; by whom it was carried out; and to which members of the deceased's family the resulting information was given.

The Solicitor-General for Scotland

The post-mortem was performed at Raigmore hospital, Inverness by Dr. Richmond; the resulting information was given to the deceased's brother.
