§ Mr. Peter BottomleyWe have received representations from a number of hon. Members, including my hon. Friend, and from a range of organisations and individuals. 505W We have had over 10,000 calls to our road safety hotline (0800 234888) asking for advice. The Department will continue to press home to parents the message that the use of restraints saves children's lives.
The summer sales of child restraints was about 20,000 per week. We are working closely with the Child Accident Prevention Trust on loan schemes for child car seats.
