Friend has asked the authority to explain immediately why it considers it reasonable to proceed with a disciplinary hearing; and under what powers it is suggested that the authority might investigate the behaviour of school governors and parents in this case. My right hon. Friend will consider whether further action is appropriate in the light of the authority's reply.
