§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeClaimant advisers are paid in accordance with standard Civil Service rates of pay and do not receive any form of performance bonus or incentive.
I should also refer the hon. Member to my reply to the hon. Member for Kingston upon Hull, East (Mr. Prescott), on 4 November 1986 at column 805, in which I said that no targets had been set for claimant advisers to reduce the number of people on the unemployment register.
