§ Mr. Peter BottomleyAn increase in trunk road capital spending as announced by the Chancellor of the Exchequer in his autumn statement. This additional provision will enable us to maintain the present momentum of the trunk road construction programme, comprising nearly 300 schemes. More than half are bypasses or relief roads.
