§ Mr. DunnThe appeal arrangements of the Education Act 1980 applied for the first time to school admissions for416W September 1982. From informal inquiries made of local education authorities at the time, I understand that in 1982, 1983 and 1985 there were about 9,000, 10,000 and 9,000 appeals respectively. No such inquiries were made in 1984.
