§ Mr. Ewingasked the Solicitor-General for Scotland if he will discuss with procurators fiscal prosecution policy in relation to the use of citizens band radios for the transmission of foul and abusive language; and if he will make a statement.
§ The Solicitor-General for ScotlandI have no plans to have such discussions. The use of citizens band radios for the transmission of offensive or obscene language would be a breach of the conditions of the licence and accordingly an offence under section 1 of the Wireless Telegraphy Act 1949. It might also be a breach of the peace.
