Thomasasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will call for a report from the chief constable of South Wales on the incident at Pontypridd on 19 April when Steffan Webb was injured by a vehicle carrying the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Wales, the hon. Member for Conwy (Mr. Roberts); and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Giles ShawI understand from the chief constable that, as my hon. Friend the Member for Conwy (Mr. Roberts) was leaving the Polytechnic of Wales at Pontypridd last Saturday afternoon an incident occurred involving the vehicle in which he was travelling as a result of which a demonstrater, Mr. Webb, was reportedly injured. Any complaint made will of course be fully investigated.
