§ 42. Mr. Greg Knightasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will review the scope and operation of the law in relation to the ownership of weapons in the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. Giles ShawThe Firearms Act 1968, which lays down strict controls over the possession and use of firearms in Great Britain, is kept under constant review but we have no plans at present to amend the Act. Separate stricter legislation exists in Northern Ireland and I understand that my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland also has no plans to introduce amending legislation.
