HC Deb 24 April 1986 vol 96 c205W
Mr. Grylls

asked the Paymaster General what assessment he has made of the effect on small businesses of the current advertisements being run by the Data Protection Agency.

Mr. Waddington

I have been asked to reply.

The objective of the registrar's advertisements is to encourage computer users to consider their position under the Data Protection Act 1984 and, if necessary, register under the Act. It is too early to assess the effect of this advertising campaign on small businesses.
