HC Deb 23 April 1986 vol 96 c169W
39. Mr. Penhaligon

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will indicate the number of houses repaired to date under the Housing Defects Act.

Mr. John Patten

I regret that reliable information is not currently available. Arrangements are in hand to collect more detailed information and results should be available by the autumn.

45. Mr. Amess

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what representations he has received about defective properties in Basildon.

Mr. Tracey

My hon. Friend has himself made representations about potential structural problems affecting saleability of Lindsay Parkinson HSSB houses built by the Basildon development corporation. My Department has also recently received a letter from the Vange Action Group about these houses. As my hon. Friend the Minister for Housing, Urban Affairs and Construction said in reply to my hon. Friend on 27 March, at column 616, and as I said in the course of his Adjournment debate on 9 April, at column 324, we are carefully considering possible ways of dealing with this situation.
