§ Sir John Farrasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will take steps to simplify and clarify the statement stamped on the passports of foreign visa holders by his immigration department, namely: 149W "This will apply unless superseded to any subsequent leave the holder may obtain after an absence from the United Kingdom within the period limited as above".
§ Mr. WaddingtonThe purpose of the endorsement is to enable the holder of the passport to be readmitted on the same conditions after a trip abroad. In order to achieve this result the endorsement follows the wording of section 3(3)(b) of the Immigration Act 1971.
