asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what representations he has received about the consequences of the abolition of Merseyside county council for the arts and the voluntary sector in Merseyside.

266 representations have been received. Well over half of these related to the Philarmonic hall, which was transferred on 1 April to the Merseyside Residuary Body until final decisions are taken on its ownership and management.
