§ 88. Mr. Ryderasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what plans he has to discuss with employers the feasibility of introducing a greater element of profit sharing into pay negotiations.
§ Mr. MacGregorAs foreshadowed in my right hon. Friend's Budget speech, there will be preliminary discussions with employers and others over the next few weeks about the feasibility and benefits of introducing a measure of temporary tax relief to encourage profit sharing agreements which link a significant part of an employee's pay to profits. If these preliminary discussions are sufficiently encouraging, we would prepare a consultative document setting out a detailed scheme for wider consultation.
