§ The Prime MinisterRecords of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and its predecessor Departments relating to the years prior to 1956 are with very few exceptions available at the Public Records Office. Certain categories of documents have been withheld from public inspection. However, no papers withheld by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office contain any material on this matter which is not already public knowledge.
