HC Deb 21 April 1986 vol 96 cc27-8W
Mr. Rogers

asked the Secretary of State for Wales how many people were working in the different occupational categories in the water industry in Wales in 1975 and each subsequent year.

Mr. Mark Robinson

The information requested is not held by the Department. I have written to the chairman of the Welsh water authority, and he will reply to the hon. Gentleman.

Data on the earnings of newly employed workers are not collected separately in surveys of wages and salaries.

Mr. Sheerman

asked the Paymaster General what is the full-time equivalency of the 991,000 new jobs that have been created since March 1983.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

Insufficient detail is available to calculate reliable estimates of full-time equivalents, which would, in any case, not reflect the importance of increasing labour market flexibility which has contributed to the continuing growth of part time jobs and has benefited both employers and employees.
