HC Deb 21 April 1986 vol 96 c24W
Mr. McQuarrie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will discuss the problem of the shortage of junior house doctors in Grampian health board for the orthopaedic surgery department with the chairman of the board.

Mr. John MacKay

Staffing problems are matters for individual health boards, in the first instance, as they are responsible for keeping under review the adequacy of their service provision. In Grampian, the health board is well aware of the difficulty of attracting junior medical staff to this particular field and has already taken steps to tackle the problem.
