HC Deb 21 April 1986 vol 96 c11W
Mr. Austin Mitchell

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether it was with his authority that the Yorkshire and Humberside regional director of his Department made a statement criticising the use of the Central Electricity Generating Board site at Killingholme, South Humberside, for nuclear dumping and expressing a preference for industrial development on the site.

Mr. Peter Morrison

I understand that the regional director made the point that south Humberside was an area of great industrial potential. He added that this is one of the factors that will clearly have to be taken into account in forming a decision on the use of the South Killingholme site. The regional director made no criticism of the CEGB.
