HC Deb 21 April 1986 vol 96 cc46-7W
20. Mr. Madel

asked the Secretary of State for Transport whether, following representations from the hon. Member for Bedfordshre, South-West he is yet able to say what decision his Department has reached in relation to the proposed barrierless level crossing in Lidlington, Bedfordshire; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. David Mitchell

No decision by my Department is yet required on the modernisation of Lidlington level crossing since the British Railways Board has not yet made an application for a statutory order. The position remains the same as when I wrote to my hon. Friend on 25 March. I understand that there is to be a further meeting at which the railway will explain it's proposals to my hon. Friend's constituents and consider any points put to it before making any formal application for an order.
