HC Deb 21 April 1986 vol 96 c60W
Mr. Skinner

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will now take steps to encourage the Health and Safety Executive to publish its records on environmental surveys.

Sir George Young

My right hon. Friend's responsibility for the activities of the Health and Safety Executive extends only to the standards adopted and applied by the industrial air pollution inspectorate. It is the inspectorate's normal practice to publish the results of any of its own studies of pollutants in the vicinity of industrial processes within its control.

Surveys of the workplace environment are a matter for my right hon. Friend the Paymaster General.
