HC Deb 21 April 1986 vol 96 c38W
Mr. Austin Mitchell

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will provide his most up-to-date assessment of the economic consequences of United Kingdom membership of the European Economic Community; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Brooke

The Government's assessment of the economic consequences of United Kingdom membership of the European Economic Community remains as set out in the memorandum submitted to the Treasury and Civil Service sub-committee inquiry into "The Financial and Economic Consequences of UK membership of the European Communities" (House of Commons report 57-II, 1984–85, 18 February 1985).
