Mr. Corbett

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is the estimated whole-time equivalent number of police officers involved in duties of inspection of retail pharmacies under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Mr. Mellor

A total of 49 officers are employed full-time on pharmacy inspection duties in 30 police forces in England and Wales. In the remaining forces this function is undertaken as part of the duties of one or more officers.

Mr. Grylls

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what money he has allocated for 1986–87 to the budget of the Data Protection Agency for advertising.

Mr. Waddington

In his budget proposals for 1986–87, which remain subject to approval, the Data Protection Registrar has included a sum of £276,000 for advertising purposes.
