§ 20. Mr. Willie W. Hamiltonasked the Secretary of State for Defence what specific initiatives he is taking to ensure that the location of military establishments forms an integral part of Her Majesty's Government's regional employment policy.
§ Mr. LeeThe Department of Employment and other Departments concerned are given advanced notification of any plans to re-deploy or close defence establishments and consultations take place as plans are developed. The possibility for relocating defence establishments to areas away from the south-east of England are the subject of continuing review. All proposals will need to stand on their operational and economic merits.
