§ Mr. Freudasked the Minister for the Arts if he will make a statement on the financial resources available to the National Youth Orchestra for the forthcoming financial year; and if he will list the representations he has received in respect of the future of the orchestra.
§ Mr. Luce[pursuant to his reply, 27 March 1986, c. 589]: The amdministrator of the orchestra wrote to me in February to ask for my support, because one of its sponsors had ceased to trade. I have brought the orchestra's difficulties to the attention of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Education and Science, who provides some funding to the orchestra.
