HC Deb 10 April 1986 vol 95 cc160-1W
Mr. Tim Smith

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what information he has as to traffic flows on the following sections of the M40 motorway: (a) between the M25 motorway and Beaconsfield, (b) between Beaconsfield and Wycombe East, (c) between Wycombe East and Handy Cross and (d) between Handy Cross and Stokenchurch; what information he has in particular as to five-day and seven-day average traffic flows; and what counts have been undertaken.

Mr. Peter Bottomley

The information is set out in the table. For the sections from Wycombe East to Stokenchurch, it is derived from either continuous count equipment or manual traffic counts in December 1985. For the other sections, where no counts have been taken since March 1984 at the latest, an estimate has been made of the average daily flow in December 1985 on a seven-day, 24-hour basis.
