HC Deb 10 April 1986 vol 95 c162W
Mr. John David Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwelath Affairs whether he raised the refusal of the Greek authorities to allow entry into Greece by United Kingdom citizens carrying British passports, which had been stamped by the authorities of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, during his recent visit to Athens; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Eggar

The Greek authorities have indicated that this practice has now been discontinued.

Mr. John David Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if the Greek authorities will now allow entry into Greece by United Kingdom citizens carrying British passports previously stamped by the authorities of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Eggar

That is our understanding. We welcome this development.
