§ Mr. Eadieasked the Secretary of State for Energy what information he has for the period from 1985 to the latest date about (a) the percentage of contracts and orders arising from North sea oil and gas operations which have been placed with British firms, (b) the total value of such contracts and (c) the percentage and value of such contracts sub-contracted to British firms; and if he will list the companies which have received such contracts or orders.
§ Mr. Buchanan-SmithThe information requested at(a) and (b) will be contained in my right hon. Friend's the Secretary of State's report to Parliament on the development of the oil and gas resources of the United Kingdom. This report will be published towards the end of April. The information requested at (c) is not available to my Department. Details of companies which have received contracts and orders arising from North sea oil and gas operations are commercially confidential.
