asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many young people have been taken on under the youth training scheme by his Department and bodies for which his Department is responsible.

asked the Paymaster General what percentage of young people on youth training scheme programmes go on to full-time employment nationally and by region in England.

Mr. Trippier

The Manpower Services Commission conducts a regular postal survey of young people who have left the youth training scheme. Questionnaires are sent to young people some three months after they leave the scheme.

The following results relate to those leaving the youth training scheme between June 1984 and March 1985 based on a 15 per cent. sample of leavers in each month:
