§ Mr. Skeetasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what information he has as to the current production of platinum (i) in South Africa and(ii) in countries with centrally planned economies; and what percentage their combined production represents of total world production.
§ Mr. ButcherIn 1984 South Africa produced 90,200 kg of platinum group metals contained; and of the countries with centrally planned economies the USSR and Yugoslavia produced 115,000 kg platinum group metals contained in total. These combined productions represent 94 per cent. of world production.
