HC Deb 28 October 1985 vol 84 cc369-70W
Mr. Pavitt

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services when he proposes to introduce legislation to implement the recent agreement on a new contract for pharmacists reached with the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee, what form the legislation will take, and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Hayhoe

The Government remain fully committed to the recent agreements on a new National Health Service contract for community pharmacists and intend introducing the legislation necessary to control entry to the pharmaceutical list at the earliest possible opportunity. Any new legislation will cover both the agreements reached in England and Wales and those in Scotland and Northern Ireland. I cannot at the moment predict when it will be possible to introduce such legislation.
