§ Mr. Andrew F. Bennettasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what recommendations have been issued about fees for overseas students, non-EEC, on courses of further and higher education in the academic year 1985–86.
§ Mr. BrookeThe Government's policy is that overseas students who began their courses on or after 1 September 1980 should pay fees that cover the cost of their education here, but it is for individual institutions and authorities to determine the fees that they charge such students in accordance with the Government's policy and in the light of their own particular circumstances. The University Grants Committee has however recommended that universities should charge at least the following minimum fees to such overseas students during the current academic year:
