§ Mr. Ron Daviesasked the Secretary of State for Energy whether he has received or is aware of any proposals for new investment in, or further development of, the National Coal Board engineering works at Tredomen, Ystrad Mynach.
§ Mr. David HuntTredomen Engineering Ltd. is a company owned by the NCB's wholly owned subsidiary NCB (Ancillaries). The NCB tells me that since 1982, some £700,000 has been invested in modern production facilities at Tredomen, including robotic welding equipment and computer controlled machine tools. It is for the board or its subsidiaries to decide on further investment.
