HC Deb 28 October 1985 vol 84 c353W
Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether, in view of the increased work load of the Scottish courts on drugs cases and other subjects and the length of time for appeals to be heard, he will consider seeking to create another Scottish judge or judges.

Mr. John MacKay

I refer my hon. Friend to the answer given by my hon. Friend the Member for Edinburgh, South (Mr. Ancram) on 15 July at column36. Since then one additional judge of the Court of Session has been appointed in September 1985.
