§ Mr. Deakinsasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs why he agreed at the intergovernmental EEC conference to consultation with the European Assembly before any proposals were finalised for the EEC summit meeting in December.
§ Mr. RifkindThe European Parliament was consulted about convening the intergovernmental conference in accordance with article 236 of the EEC treaty. We have agreed to keep the Parliament informed of progress in the conference and to report to it the outcome.
