HL Deb 24 October 1985 vol 467 cc1371-2WA
Lord Donaldson of Kingsbridge

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether, following the recent decision of an industrial tribunal in Sheffield that Mrs Judy Chandler had suffered unlawful discrimination, they will alter the criteria for eligibility for the community programme or alternatively whether they will appeal against the tribunal's decision.

The Secretary of State for Employment (Lord Young of Graffham)

An appeal against the industrial tribunal decision in this case has been lodged with the employment appeal tribunal. Once the result of the appeal is known, a decision will be taken on what, if any, further action is appropriate.
