§ Mr. GummerThe Council of Fisheries Ministers agreed in December 1984 to restore the full rate of duty 255W set out in the Common Custom Tariff on imports of dried and salted cod in the context of the expected acession of Spain and Portugal to the European Community. Existing trade patterns have been safeguarded by the Community opening a number of tariff free quotas for dried and salted cod following the restoration of the full rate of duty.
