§ Mr. Canavanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he will publish, in detail and also in a form accessible and intelligible to the non-scientific general public, the results of investigations by his officials and others into the possible presence of dioxins, furans and other toxic compounds in emissions from municipal refuse incinerators in Scotland.
§ Mr. AncramI understand that tests relating to their incinerators have been carried out on behalf of the City of Edinburgh district council and Falkirk district council, to whom the reports were submitted. A report on investigations by the Warren Spring laboratory into the possible presence of dioxins, furans and other toxic compounds in emissions from a number of municipal incinerators in Great Britain is expected to be published during the course of next year.
