asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether any recent appointment has been made to the post of deputy chairman of the Boundary Commission for Scotland.

Mr. Younger

The Lord President of the Court of Session appointed the Honourable Lord Davidson as deputy chairman of the Boundary Commission for Scotland on 25 September 1985 to succeed the right Hon. Lord Ross, who has been appointed Lord Justice Clerk.

Lord Davidson's term of office expires on 31 December 1988.
