§ Mr. Nicholas EdwardsI have received letters from two members of staff expressing concern about the recently announced expenditure cuts at the Welsh plant breeding station.
I am aware of the concern that has been expressed regarding the future of the WPBS and I discussed the situation with Lord Selborne the chairman of the Agricultural and Food Research Council on 30 September 1985. The council is considering its forward policy and is expected to issue a statement shortly.
