§ Mr. WhitneyResults from the general household survey published in OPCS Monitor GHS 84/1 indicate that over the period 1981 to 1983 about 13 per cent. of families with dependent children in Great Britain were lone parents with dependent children.
As a very small proportion of households contain more than one family, the figure for households will be about the same as that given above for families. Corresponding information is not available for England alone.
